COVID-19 - Missouri Valley Schools Update

Missouri Valley Schools Update 3/15/2020:

As I've mentioned before, things continue to evolve and change. Tonight, Governor Reynolds announced that due to new developments, she is now recommending that all schools close for 4 weeks. With that announcement, our closure will now begin on Tuesday, March 17, and we will return on Tuesday, April 14. All activities during this time will also cease. Missouri Valley Wrap-Around will also close until further notice.

Monday, March 16:
Our current plan has not changed for tomorrow. We will still have students attend and we will still have early dismissal (12:55/1:05) with Wrap-Around dismissing at 5:30.

If you choose to keep your child(ren) at home, their absence will be excused. You can set up times to pick up items at a later date.

As you can all imagine, there is no precedent set for this situation. It continues to be very fluid and we will continue to respond to this situation in a way that we believe is best for our students, staff, and families. We are all in this together and will work together to get through it.

Tomorrow, we will be discussing ways to support students academically, employees financially, and still have meals available for our students throughout this closure. We will send out information as it becomes available.

Thank you for your support.

With Big Reds' Pride,

Dr. Brenton Hoesing
Superintendent of Schools
Missouri Valley Community School District
